Board Elects Four New Members, Embarks On Strategic Plan
Full Circle Fund is excited to announce the election of four new board members (appearing clockwise in photo) Mark Jacobstein - CEO of iSkoot and Member since 2005, Steve Schoettler - Co-Founder of Zynga, Sarah Wigglesworth - former C-level consultant and former Global Economic Opportunity Circle Co-Chair, and Harrison Dillon - Co-Founder of Solazyme.
This infusion of fresh talent marks a critical milestone, as Full Circle Fund celebrates a decade as an organization and looks forward to the next ten years. Amy Lesnick Steps Down After Six Successful Years
Amy Lesnick announced in March that she would be resigning her position as Full Circle Fund Executive Director/CEO after leading the organization for the last six years. Her final day was June 10, 2011. Thanks to Amy's tenacity, creativity, and enthusiasm, Full Circle Fund has evolved to become one of the largest engaged philanthropy organizations in existence. During her tenure, the nonprofit grew from 25 members to nearly 200. Two significant achievements reached under Amy's leadership are the launching of the Environment Circle with Vice President Al Gore, and Global Economic Opportunity Circle with Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Bill Draper Takes Sold-Out Crowd Inside The Startup Game
A sold-out crowd of nearly 200 members and guests came to the Green Room near San Francisco City Hall on March 29 for Full Circle Fund's Inspiring Leaders Series Event. The crowd came to network, learn more about our work in the community and listen to an engaging talk titled "Inside the Startup Game" by venture capitalist and author, William H. Draper III. For more than 40 years, Draper worked with top entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. With an insider's perspective on the worlds of venture capital and entrepreneurship, Draper shared lessons for success in both business and life, and discussed his new book, The Startup Game.

Seven New Grant Partners Selected for 2011 Projects
Members of the Global Economic Opportunity Circle completed their second grant cycle and voted on a new investment portfolio on June 21. After much exploration and research, and an incredible amount of work on behalf of all the inquiry teams and leaders, IDEX and Family Independence Initiative were selected to receive grants of both time and money from Full Circle Fund. The Education Circle selected a new group of grant partners in April, including Children Now, Ed100.org, Khan Academy, Pivot Learning Partners, and Leadership Public Schools.

Innovative Education Project Needs Your Used Smart Phone
Did you know that your used smart phone can have a new life as a learning device for a student? Leadership Public Schools SmartPhones for SmartKids is a pilot project designed to help low-income students gain mobile computing technology that will bolster learning inside and outside of the classroom. Full Circle Fund's Education Circle selected this project in spring 2011 as part of its new investment portfolio.

The Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry
For the past year, Full Circle Fund Members have been working with the Environment Circle's grant partner Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry (BCGC). They reached a major milestone with the organization's first national conference entitled Green Chemistry: Collaborative Approaches & New Solutions. The sold-out March 24 event introduced the collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches piloted by BCGC and featured leaders in these fields, who spoke about the role of green chemistry in responding to society's most pressing health, environmental and economic problems.
