Going Green

As Full Circle Fund worked to launch our Environment / Energy Circle, we knew we also had to commit to making our entire organization greener. Thanks to our generous donors, creative partners, and the good intentions of our staff and members, we've been able to implement many changes that cumulatively make a big difference.

Here are just a few of the steps we've taken to go green:

• Buying local products and giving preference to local Bay Area businesses - many of whom are raising the bar for sustainability - reducing the fuel that's needed to get items to our offices.
• Using biodegradable and reusable supplies as well as recycling and composting services to minimize the waste created during meetings and events.
• Reducing our paper use by sending newsletters and most event invitations via email, shrinking margins to 0.5" on documents that need to be printed, and using 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper for the few things we did print.
• Greening our purchasing, as shown by large items like a new power-saver color printer and small things like recycled content office supplies. We recommend Give Something Back!
• Supporting our employees, more than half of whom bike or take public transit to work each day.
• Greened our largest event, the 2007 Forum.
