- Participate as issue experts: serving in the White House, advising political commissions, community groups, and business task forces - such as the Governor's Advisory Committee on Education Excellence, Bay Area Foundation Advisory Group to End Homelessness, and Housing Leadership Council, UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies National Advisory Council - utilizing their unique perspectives as hands-on grantmakers.
- Sharing new issue expertise: members utilize their unique perspectives as hands-on grantmakers, often speaking on panels and at conferences, thus enriching community discourse about the issues.
- Career transitions: members have changed careers to work more closely on one of our three issue areas, bringing their passion about their volunteer work to their day jobs.
- Member recruitment: members often encourage talented colleagues and friends to join, significantly increasing our capacity for community impact and helping us cultivate an even larger group of community leaders.
