At Google, Kurt managed operations for the North American Direct sales organization. His earlier assignments at Google included launching AdSense in 2003 and working as a strategic partner to the head of Global Sales & Operations. Prior to Google, Kurt was Co-Founder and COO of Jupiter Communications, the leading Internet research organization. Kurt built the business from a 12-person office to over 520 employees worldwide and revenues of $95 million yearly. Prior to coming to Morgan Stanley, he was a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Michael spent his career as a financial analyst, a wealth advisor, and an entrepreneur. He worked in Europe as a credit analyst for Societe Generale in Paris and London. He then started a company that built and helped market charitable funds for some of the largest financial service firms in the country. In that role, Michael worked with advisors and their affluent clients around philanthropic planning, including donor-advised funds, private foundations, pooled income funds, and the related tax, investment, family legacy and gifting issues associated with such strategies. He also spent a couple years as a Vice President at Franklin Templeton Investments, focusing on their fixed income, municipal bond, equities, and alternative investment products. In addition to serving on the boards of Full Circle Fund and YouthNoise, Michael is also on the advisory board of the Tech Museum. He received his B.A./B.S. in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a certificate in International Economics from Columbia University. Her past roles at PayPal were in content and product management, the latest one being the Director of Product Management for Consumer Protections and Risk Management. Denise led PayPal's early efforts to allow consumers to use their bank accounts to fund online payments. She was responsible for building the bank funded payment model, as well as an accompanying patented risk model that assesses the risk of instant online bank payments. She also was part of the team that designed a patented system for building an online dispute resolution system that allows buyers and sellers to work out their transaction related complaints directly with one another. Prior to PayPal, Denise worked on PlanetWeb's parental control software which enabled parents to limit what websites their children could access online. Previously she was the Content Manager for eDaycare.com, a start up whose goal was to place webcams in daycare centers so that parents could watch their children remotely during the day. Denise is active in a range of volunteer and philanthropic activities. She completed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Leadership Development Program, has interned with Senator Barbara Boxer and at the American Jewish Committee's National Office in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the San Francisco Jewish Community Endowment Fund's Young Funders' Forum. Prior to her career in real estate private equity, Meera spent time in the investment banking practices of Banc of America Securities and SG Cowen Securies. He currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources at Wachovia Bank, supporting over 5000 team members across the Western US, and is now deeply involved in the Wells Fargo merger. The son of Midwestern educators and entrepreneurs, Andrew has held a number of recruitment and HR leadership roles within several start-ups and some of the world's largest organizations, including General Electric and Pepsi. Realizing his fun could become a profitable business, Gary founded Bauer's IT (Intelligent Transportation) in 1989. Now celebrating its 20 year anniversary, with a fleet of more than 200 vehicles (and growing), Bauer's IT is one of the largest eco-friendly transportation companies in the United States. The company, a pioneer in the hybrid transportation industry combining the luxury and safety of chauffeured transportation with the technological conveniences and environmental benefits of private, full-service individual and group transportation, is now working on a new endeavor, BauersWi-Drive.org, to reduce congestion and emissions in the Bay Area. An industry leader since its inception, Bauer's IT takes its environmental impact very seriously. In 2009, the United Motorcoach Association awarded Bauer's IT its prestigious "Green Highway" award for the company's commitment to green stewardship, and in 2004 and 2006 Bauer's IT was selected as "Operator of the Year" by Limousine Digest and Limousine and Charter Transportation. Gary continues to provide leadership in the industry by serving as an officer in the National Limousine Association (NLA) and maintaining active memberships in The Greater California Livery Association (GCLA), National Association of Catering Executives (NACE), Meeting Planners International (MPI), and Entrepreneurs Organization (EO). Currently at Resource Media, a nonprofit communications consulting firm, Anne promotes news coverage on energy and climate science and helps journalists localize the story about global warming. At PATH, a global health organization, Anne worked on the Reproductive Health and Children's Vaccines Programs. Her work has resulted in articles in leading news outlets, such as The New York Times and Science magazine, a variety of publications, and increased awareness among policymakers, physicians and community leaders about health policy issues ranging from cervical cancer prevention to the Rotavirus vaccine. Her undergraduate and graduate work was in the field of world religions and philosophy. She has worked in a variety of advocacy positions including patient advocacy in a department of Neorology, but for the past two years she has been the Executive Director of the Alameda Education Foundation; leading the Foundation to a 49% increase in giving in one year's time. In 2007, in response to proposed cuts to CA public education, she coordinated a nationally recognized public awareness campaign with the theme: Public Education is too Valuable to Throw Away. She has volunteered for many organizations on behalf of children and vulnerable communities since high school, where she got her start working with children in Chicago's housing projects. He spent his first year at the company traveling all over America conducting seminars to persuade Lotus 1-2-3 customers to try Microsoft Excel. In the course of three versions, Jeff helped establish that product as a critical tool for the IT industry and advanced it beyond $100 million in profit for the company. His next move was to Windows 95, where as the product manager for multimedia he led the effort to broaden Windows' usefulness beyond business applications and into the growth area of gaming. From 1995 through 1997, Jeff took a break from product-related efforts and put his Japanese language skills to the test as Business Manager for the Far East region (headquartered in Tokyo). On his return to Redmond in 1998, he led the reorganization of a large IT group before heading the design of Microsoft TaxSaver, the company's one-year entry into the tax preparation software business. His last position at the company was General Manager of MSN Music, an online music service whose time had not yet come. Since moving to the Bay Area in 2001, Jeff has been a very active member of Full Circle Fund's Education Impact Circle, which he now chairs. Before being named President of the Leadership Group, Guardino worked for Hewlett-Packard Company. Prior to his tenure at Hewlett-Packard, Guardino spent five years at the Leadership Group, where he served as Vice President. Previously, Guardino spent six years on the staff of State Assemblyman Rusty Areias, the last three years as his Chief Assistant. When he was named to that position, he became the youngest Chief Assistant in the State of California. Guardino was recently named as one of the "Five Most Powerful" people in Silicon Valley by the San Jose Mercury News "power study," which is only conducted every ten years. But Koch wanted to do more than raise dollars. She sought to give the company's employees - 80 percent of whom were Hispanic - opportunities to help their children. The path: establish a library at the company to provide easy access to age-appropriate books. Employees embraced the program and, as they read to their children, their own language skills improved. After Koch sold RSP in 1997, she built on the library initiative. Engage was created to help find pathways for large numbers of people to get involved in social and environmental change. It builds small "living room" circle programs with well-known social change champions and catalysts. Prior to Engage, Manilov has had a 20 plus year professional career in non-profit, philanthropy and socially responsible business. She's run campaigns and programs for groups such as Amnesty International and Greenpeace International. She is the co-founder and former Executive Director of The Center for Commercial-Free Public Education, home of the UNPLUG campaign against Channel One. Under Manilov's direction, the Center was credited with bringing a bi-partisan coalition in 22 states together to address the issue of corporate influence and advertising in schools, including congressional hearings, 60 Minutes, and widespread international media attention. Manilov has appeared in a host of media outlets, including: The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. Good Housekeeping, and Business Week. She has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Good Morning America, and on the BBC. At Women's Funding Network, Brandee serves as interim project manager of the Women Moving Millions campaign, which aims to inspire gifts of a million dollars and above in support of women's funds across the globe. Some of Brandee's past experience includes successfully completing a $5 million capital campaign for the Alameda County Community Food Bank as well as program director of an employment program for Sudanese refugee women as well as an ESL program for Sudanese refugee women. Such efforts include creating incentives for green construction, promoting biofuels and renewable energy, and removing harmful pesticides from the market. She currently works at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency overseeing emission controls for sources with high levels of pollution. In addition, she oversees a national partnership between governments and private industries to enhance innovative technologies and research aimed to reduce regional air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Trina has also worked at the EPA in Washington DC setting regulation and guidance to cleanup the nation's most contaminated Federal sites, such as military bases. Her efforts also led to unprecedented national policies to minimize adverse environmental impacts of pollution to Native American Indians and environmental justice communities. As a California native, Trina received Bachelors degrees in Environmental Science and Politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and as a lover of the Big Apple, received a Masters degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University. He has created welfare to work and technology training programs at Compass Family Center and Homeless Prenatal Program. He is currently working for the City of San Francisco on creating wireless networks for low income housing and communities. Michael has been an IT Director, employment specialist, technology curriculum developer, counselor, successful fund raiser, and program manager. He recently managed OpNet Community Ventures a workforce development program that trained young adults for jobs in the IT industry. He is currently assisting several San Francisco non-profits in developing community technology programs. For the past two years he has created wireless networks in low income communities in San Francisco. He was an active member of the San Francisco Mayors Digital Inclusion Task Force. He is on the steering committee of the Bay Area Community Technology Network and on the board of directors of Compass Community Services. He was recruited from College by Philips Research Laboratories in The Netherlands to develop breakthrough semiconductor technology and products. Rory was then recruited in 1990 by Intel Corporation in California to work on the 386 microprocessor family of products. He continued at Intel working on successive generations of microprocessor and computer platform development, while completing an MBA at Santa Clara University. Rory currently runs the development organization for high end server computer products at Intel. Products from the group form the heart of 5 of the 10 most powerful computers in the world including one deployed at Nasa Ames Research in Mountain View. He has been a leader in the yearly fundraising effort at Intel for the United Way of Santa Clara, with Intel being one of three members of the "Million Dollar Club". He developed the Community Home Loan Fund, to help advocate for borrowers in the process of foreclosure. He has also led the Foundation in the creation of a program to provide financial education and free checking & savings account for the under banked. Previously, she was Executive Director of Full Circle Fund. As a Fulbright scholar, she spent several years working with indigenous groups in the Brazilian Amazon. Her work focused on ethnic art, documenting the cultural, environmental, and economic significance of traditional crafts. Rooted in her deep appreciation of indigenous art, Devaa birthed a handicraft cooperative - helping tribal peoples of the Gurupi river valley to export their art internationally for museums and collectors in the United States. Devaa also spent time with shamans of the Tembe' tribe, exploring and participating in their ancient healing rituals. Devaa earned both her B.A. in anthropology and her M.A. in international development policy at Stanford University. She has trained for nine years with Miracle of Love, a spiritual organization focused on cathartic release work. She has been professionally performing both music and theater since the age of seven, and completed the Professional Actor's Certification at UCLA (including theater, film, voice and movement). Return to top Josh WilsonEditor, Newsdesk.org • Community Fellow member • Impact Circle: Technology Josh Wilson is one of the co-founders of Independent Arts & Media, a San Francisco nonprofit organization and producer's co-op that expands civic dialogue by increasing access to independent voices. Through his work with Indy Arts his is also the founder and editor of Newsdesk.org, a commercial-free journalism Web site focusing on "important but overlooked news," and a co-founder of the Expo for the Artist & Musician, "the Bay Area's only grassroots connection fair for independent art, music and culture." He is also a longtime producer, DJ and host at the award-winning community radio station KUSF-FM, and held various positions there, including Community Affairs Director and Program Coordinator. A professional journalist and editor, Josh has worked in various staff and contract capacities for SFGate.com, Meredith Corporation, and Wired magazine, and as a freelancer for the San Jose Mercury News, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, and other publications. Return to top Michael WolfeVice President, Products and Services, Symantec • Private Sector member • Impact Circle: Technology Michael is Vice President of Technology and Services of the Vontu business unit of Symantec, which acquired Vontu in 2007. Michael was a co-founder of Vontu in 2002 after spending a year as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Benchmark Capital. Michael previously was a founding employee and Vice President of Engineering of Kana Communications, which had a successful IPO in 1999, as well as I/PRO, which was acquired by Engage in 1999. He began his career at Goldman, Sachs in New York City and London. Michael and his wife Mary have supported several organizations including Raphael House San Francisco, University of Virginia, and Stanford University, where Michael received a BS and MS in 1991. Return to top Greg WolffFounding President, UnaMesa Association • Private Sector member • Impact Circle: Technology Greg Wolff is Vice President of Services Research at Ricoh Innovations and founder of the UnaMesa Association and Chocolate Dividends. Prior to founding UnaMesa, he was a fellow at the Digital Vision program of Stanford University. Greg earned a BA in Cognitive and Brain Science from MIT and an MS in Cognitive Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. At Ricoh Innovations Greg helped create one of the world's first lip reading systems, led a research team to develop the first digital photo story telling device, initiated Ricoh's first Open Source offering, and invented new methods for customer-centric innovation and services research. Greg's research and entrepreneurial activity focuses on a single question: How can we become smarter? Return to top Ken WunSpecial Assistant to the Chairman, California Democratic Party • Public Sector member • Impact Circle: Education Currently, Ken is the Portfolio Manager at BRIDGE Urban Infill Land Development. Previously, he was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs and worked in the investment management and real estate advisory industries. He earned his B.A. from University of California at Berkeley and his M.S. in real estate development from Columbia University. He served as a Voting Director at California Alumni Association and International Institute of San Francisco. He is also a Term Member of Pacific Council on International Policy and a Charter Member of the Hope Street Group. He has volunteered extensively as a tutor, mentor and big brother. Return to top Clayton Yee • Public Sector member • Impact Circle: Education Clayton's has diverse professional experience in technology, finance, and non-profit sectors. He has led product and program development as well as marketing, communications, and fund development. His Silicon Valley experience includes working on microprocessor, graphics, and networking projects at Sun Microsystems, Philips Electronics, and several technology startups. His nonprofit background includes work in education, environment, and workforce development at JVS, St. Anthony Foundation, YMCA, and San Francisco Nature Education. He has also run a currency trading firm. Clayton's experience has instilled an appreciation and understanding of the challenges in creating impact in the social sector and heightened his interest in drawing on the best ideas from both the business world and non-profit sectors to more effectively create social impact. He received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. A native of San Francisco, Clayton loves to travel the world, but still finds himself rooted in the City by the Bay. I have served on several local, state and national boards as well as volunteered for numerous nonprofits. I have great passion for working to advance the needs of our youth. To that end I have worked to increase special education and mental and physical heathcare services as well as to protect and improve the living situations of our youth. Return to top Amy ZuccheroMember Services Director, Women's Funding Network • Community Fellow member • Impact Circle: Global Economic Opportunity Amy Zucchero is currently the Member Services Director for the Women's Funding Network, a global association of 135 women's foundations with offices in San Francisco, CA. She joined the Network in January 2004 after completing her Masters in Public Administration at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. During her tenure, Women's Funding Network's membership has grown over 25 percent. Amy is actively involved in designing and delivering capacity building services, including leadership retreats and technical assistance grants. Prior to joining WFN, Amy worked with several non-profit organizations focused on social justice including the Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence in Ventura County, California and Tapestry Health in Northampton, Massachusetts. From 2004- 2006, Amy sat on the San Francisco, National Women's Political Caucus board of directors. She spends her free time exploring San Francisco's foggy neighborhoods, hoping to land in the sunny part of town, reading and fiddling with knitting needles. Return to top Lisa Zuffi SVP; Banking Group Head, • Private Sector member • Impact Circle: Environment Lisa Zuffi graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in English, worked in journalism for several years before joining the Peace Corps. She served in Togo, West Africa, where her favorite accomplishment was helping her host village build dozens of latrines! She spent 12 years at Bank of America as a commercial lender, primarily to non-profits and businesses, and as a tax credit investor. She joined OneCalifornia Bank in the months before it opened, excited to join this innovative bank where she could bring her passion for community and economic development to her professional life.
