At our Environment / Energy Circle’s recent meeting on February 28, guest speaker Mark Bramfitt, PG&E’s Principal Program Manager of Customer Energy Efficiency, gave an overview of PG&E’s efforts to increase energy efficiency, particularly in data centers around the Bay Area.
Mark, an engaging and insightful speaker, discussed PG&E’s support of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative, a program for companies to save energy and improve efficiency, simply through changing the work habits of employees on their computers at work and home. With 147 member companies so far, the Initiative is on target to include 10% of the global 2000 enterprises in the initiative.
Mark shared easy and effective ways Full Circle Fund members and supporters to decrease personal energy usage: engage your home and office computers’ power management feature (sleep mode) and buy energy-efficient computers or electronic equipment whenever possible.
Full Circle Fund is excited to announce that we’ve pledged to do our part to slow global warming - one power-efficient computer at a time - by becoming an Affiliate Member of the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. We encourage our members and supporters to join the Initiative and encourage their businesses to participate. Read more about the other ways Full Circle Fund has gone green.
