Hosted by Vice President Al Gore, the ball brought together “a diverse coalition of environmentally-forward organizations, entrepreneurs, scientists, and advocates, celebrating a commitment to growing the New Green Economy,” according to The Washington Times.

Other Full Circle Fund Members, including former Full Circle Fund Executive Director, Devaa Haley Mitchell-Dinan (pictured above with current ED Amy Lesnick) were also in attendance. This invitation-only, green-tie ball, held the night before president-elect Barack Obama took office, featured remarks by Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker and Ella Baker Center’s Van Jones. In 2007, both Van Jones and Al Gore appeared at Full Circle Fund’s Forum to launch the Environment Circle. The Green Ball also benefited a range of environmentally-friendly organizations and featured performances by Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, Melissa Etheridge, Maroon 5, and John Legend.
