Deb Levine, former grant partner of Full Circle Fund’s Technology Circle was just named a 2009 PopTech Social Innovation Fellow in Global Health Care / Education. Deb is honored along with 14 other high potential young leaders who were recognized for their new approaches poised for transformational impact. Fellows work in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds, nationally and internationally (as far away as India, South Africa, and Brazil), and are working in organizations that are well positioned for sustainable growth. According to PopTech, “They are the world-changers of tomorrow.”
Deb founded ISIS – Internet Sexuality Information Services – in 2001 to build better tools to promote sexual health and prevent disease. Using the web, mobile phones and mash-ups, ISIS gives people private, convenient and accurate access to information on today’s major health issues, from HIV prevention to unplanned pregnancies to access to healthcare. ISIS is creating the latest and best ways to help youth and adults lead safe, healthy and fulfilled lives.
Full Circle Fund’s very successful project (which spanned 2006-08) was a partnership with the San Francisco Department of Public Health and ISIS to build awareness of the SexINFO product and increase usage in order to support the expansion of this ground-breaking mobile product. Congratulations, Deb!
