At the November 18, 2009 Joint Impact Circle Meeting, we were honored to welcome over 180 of our members and guests to hear from Ira C. Magaziner, Chairman of the Clinton Climate Initiative and the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS initiative. But it was also the night we announce our top honor of the year: the Full Circle Fund Member of the Year Full Impact Award.

Global Economic Opportunity Co-Chair Sarah Wigglesworth took the stage to present this year’s award to Annette Brinton. Annette was the Grant Cycle Director during the Global Economic Opportunity Circle’s inaugural grant cycle in 2009. Annette is a wonderful example of a private sector member who engaged deeply with both her fellow members and the issue areas the circle was exploring. Her efforts, along with the other leaders of the GEO Circle, resulted in three amazing grant projects being chosen by the Circle.

Upon accepting the honor, Annette reflected, “If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Full Circle Fund it’s that we don’t shy away from a challenge. Instead, we rise to the occasion. It’s one of the many reasons I’m proud to be a member.”

Annette joins the ranks of previous recipients of this honor including Greg Nelson (2008) who is now working in the White House Office of Public Engagement as the Associate Director for Energy, Environment, and Technology, Melanie Nutter (2007), who is the Deputy Director for Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, and software developer, entrepreneur, startup advisor, and angel investor extraordinaire Dave McClure (2006). Congratulations, Annette, and to the entire Global Economic Opportunity Circle, for the completion of a stellar first year!
