For the past few years, Full Circle Fund has been a proud Community Partner for Craigslist Foundation’s Nonprofit Boot Camp. This year’s event, held Saturday, June 20 in Berkeley, CA, brought together over 1,000 nonprofit leaders and featured speakers Ariana Huffington and Randi Zuckerberg of Facebook, to name a few. This year, the all-day program focused on building skills to inspire greater community involvement and impact. Boot Camp ’09 placed a special emphasis on community-building and the opportunities for collaboration among individuals, businesses, government, philanthropists, and nonprofits.
Attendees at the event shared, “…I arrived just at the moment when inspiration was being served,” and “I left feeling inspired, gifted with a handful of practical new tools and an armload of new possibilities. Everything was impeccable: from the quality of the speakers to the venue to the recycling/compost educators…”.
Representing Full Circle Fund at the event were members Scott Benbow and Jacob Griscom. Glowing reports from Volunteer Leader Ritu Sharma indicated that Scott and Jacob were superstar volunteers, answering questions, assisting with setup, and supporting the event wherever necessary.
According to Lynn Luckow, Interim Executive Director at Craigslist Foundation, Craigslist Foundation has been tracking the impact of the day through the actions of the attendees. Reportedly, over 1,000 actions have already been counted, and results are still pouring in. Congratulations to the entire Craigslist Boot Camp Team for an innovative, inspiring event, and thank you to Jacob and Scott for embodying Full Circle Fund’s spirit of engagement.
