Since the 1970’s microfinance lending has helped millions of families emerge from the vicious cycle of poverty; however, many more families still struggle to feed themselves and send their children to school. Thanks to global leaders within the field, innovative solutions are being applied to these poverty alleviation techniques to reach more of the word’s population that live on less than $2 a day. In September, Full Circle Fund was lucky enough to welcome a top leader in microfinance to speak about these solutions and encourage others to get involved.
Over 170 members and guests came to Full Circle Fund’s All Member Meeting on September 9 to network, learn more about our work in the community and hear an inspiring talk from Elizabeth Funk about global opportunities in microfinance.
Elizabeth Funk, Chairman of the Board of Unitus and Founder and CEO of the Dignity Fund, spoke to the group about a tipping point which has been reached in global poverty alleviation and with the application of innovative solutions, like microfinance, the percentage of those living in destitute poverty will decrease.
