Roots of Success

Mission

Roots of Success is an empowering environmental literacy and job readiness curriculum that is designed to support a variety of education, workforce training and community-based programs that serve at-risk youth and adults. The jobs are based in the green economy and help participants improve conditions in their communities.

Background

As institutions across the country strive to prepare people for jobs and careers in the green economy, Roots of Success provides educational and job training to youth and adults with barriers to employment for good green jobs.

Veterans, especially, need support to prepare, transition and connect with meaningful employment opportunities in the green economy. Roots of Success believes that organizations serving veterans could benefit from access to their instructor training and curriculum.

Full Circle Fund Role

Full Circle Fund is partnering with Roots of Success to help them reach the Veteran job training market, one of several key markets they are trying to penetrate. Members aim to establish a few key partnerships with the veteran green jobs community and in doing so, create a pitch and marketing model that they can adapt to other markets.

The partnership will support Roots of Success' long-term goal to serve a significant portion of the 755,200 veterans who receive job training each year by enhancing their capacity to develop marketing strategies and partnerships in the veterans market.

Full Circle Fund and Roots of Success will also work together a number of awareness-raising events and activities.

"Roots of Success is designed to ensure that the people who have been most heavily impacted by environmental problems are able to benefit from the solutions that we put into place as we address those problems. Full Circle Fund brings strategic planning, marketing support, fundraising and their extended network to the table to help us get new programs off the ground. With their help, we will be able to launch our Veterans to Green Jobs project to help prepare individuals for the green job economy. We're taking on a lot of challenges at one time with a population that's very needy and we need to do it quickly and efficiently and affordably for the programs that we work with."
