Jena Hayashi joined the San Francisco Unified School District in 2017, where she currently serves as the Manager of Stewardship and Evaluation in the Fund Development Office. In her role at SFUSD, she is responsible for cultivating new corporate and philanthropic partnerships in support of the district's Vision 2025 plan, and implementing a multi-year stewardship strategy through various investor communications and engagement. Prior to joining SFUSD, Jena spent 6 years in the nonprofit sector in various development and fundraising roles for KQED Public Media, Compass Family Services, and Sunny Hills Services. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Aspire Public Schools. Additionally, Jena works as a grants and communications consultant for nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. She specializes in writing winning proposals for private and public grant funding. She also develops and designs visually compelling marketing communications to help clients demonstrate their social impact. Jena has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Stanford University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of San Francisco.
