Member Spotlight: Ray Ramillosa

For over 20 years nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals have counted on Full Circle Fund (FCF) to help build a better Bay Area. Every year we count on our Members to share their time and talent to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations to fulfill their missions.

We recently caught up with Ray Ramillosa to talk about his Member experience. Ray, who is currently Vice President and Head of U.S. Product Marketing at Visa, has been a FCF Technology Accelerator member since 2019. When he's not volunteering, Ray likes spending time with his kids and staying active with a variety of sports & exercise. He also enjoys playing the guitar.

Why did you become a FCF member?

I'm really inspired by FCF's mission and unique approach to helping non-profits. Specifically, FCF's approach to leverage both financial and intellectual capital is one that really resonated with me. While financial contributions are undoubtedly important, having the ability to also partner and work directly with a non-profit through FCF's approach is something that was really appealing and really stood out to me.

What was one of the biggest challenges your volunteer team worked on with the nonprofit partner?

I'm truly grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Tarjimly, as they have an inspiring mission to provide refugees and people in need of humanitarian assistance with critical and much needed on demand access to translators. One of the biggest challenges that we tackled alongside the Tarjimly team was to develop an efficient and scalable marketing approach to find and attract more volunteer translators to sign up with Tarjimly. Given Tarjimly's desire to link refugees with translators, this was a challenge that was very central to Tarjimly's continued success and growth.

What was the most rewarding part of your FCF project experience?

It was such a rewarding experience to partner with and work directly alongside the Tarjimly team on a challenge that was very central to their ongoing success. It was also very rewarding to come up with a solution that was both scalable and had immediate positive impact.

How would you describe FCF to friends and family?

FCF is a mission-driven organization that has a very unique "engaged philanthropy" approach to helping non-profits that combines the use of both financial and intellectual capital. For working professionals with a desire to help non-profits beyond pure financial contributions, FCF has a model that enables those working professionals to partner and work directly with non-profits on challenges that are central & critical to their businesses. FCF is also comprised of a team of top notch professionals that are great to work with and that have a real desire to support and accelerate non-profit organizations.
