At the November 10, 2010 Inspiring Leaders Series Event, Braden Penhoet was given Full Circle Fund’s highest honor, the Member of the Year Full Impact Award.
Braden has been a pro-active, passionate member of the Environment Circle since joining in 2008. First as Circle Vice Chair, and most recently as Co-Chair, Braden has played an integral role in multiple projects within Full Circle Fund’s grant portfolio, and is also a leader in the organization’s member recruitment initiatives, strategic planning, and grant cycle operations.
“Braden is energetic, enthusiastic, smart, committed to these issues, and has really been a driving force for the Circle. It has really been a pleasure working with him, ” said Environment / Energy Circle Co-Chair Melanie Nutter, before presenting the award in front of the crowd of 150 guests and members.
Reflecting on the award, Braden said, “What we do – giving money but also applying our time, talent, and networks – mirrors the process of creating value in start-ups and early stage ventures. These small groups of committed individuals work together, are willing to take on multiple roles, to turn a promising idea into a reality.”
Braden joins the ranks of previous recipients including GEO Grant Cycle Director Annette Brinton (2009), Greg Nelson (2008) who is now working in the White House Office of Public Engagement as the Associate Director for Energy, Environment, and Technology, Melanie Nutter (2007), who is now the Director of the San Francisco Office of the Environment, and software developer, entrepreneur, start-up adviser, and angel investor Dave McClure (2006).
Congratulations, Braden. We applaud your hard work and dedication! Read more about Braden here.
