Three hundred of Silicon Valley's movers and shakers recently convened for a private concert at the elegant Portola Valley estate of venture capitalist Laird Cagan and his wife Sherry to hear The English Beat. This philanthropic couple opened their home and hearts to make possible a memorable benefit that netted over $43,000 for Full Circle Fund. This evening of fun and philanthropy was made possible by the Peninsula-based nonprofit, Heart of Silicon Valley (HOSV).
HOSV is volunteer-run, co-founded by Jeff Pollock (a Full Circle Fund Member) and has produced 20 benefit concerts to date, bringing together hundreds of volunteers, musicians, local businesses, professionals, and philanthropists to support charitable organizations that are making a difference.
Host Laird Cagan, who by day is Managing Director of Cagan McAfee Capital Partners, said, "We were excited to host this Heart of Silicon Valley event that brought together great music, great people, and a great cause. Full Circle Fund is a group of local, dedicated professionals giving their time and money to support organizations in need."
The English Beat, known for their hits “Save it for Later,” “Tears of a Clown,” and “Mirror in the Bathroom,” played two high energy sets propelled by legendary front man, the “King of Ska,” Dave Wakeling. There was also an extensive auction, and gourmet food and drink from the bay area's best restaurants and drink purveyors.

To help promote an understanding of Full Circle Fund's community impact, the crowd heard from social entrepreneur Alex Bernadotte, CEO and Founder of Beyond 12, a grant partner of Full Circle Fund's Education Circle.
Says Full Circle Fund CEO Amy Lesnick, "We can't thank HOSV enough for their vision, dedication, and just plain hard work to make the event possible."
Full Circle Fund would like to thank Heart of Silicon Valley Founders Jeff Pollock , Yvonne Wolters and Maria Hermanussen-Marcus (pictured at left with KFOG's Peter Finch), the Host Committee and all the Members who attended including Jeff and Eva Camp, Annette Brinton, Mike Anders, Heather Sarni, Jennifer Anastasoff, Kiana Moradi, and Trina Martynowicz.
