A sold-out crowd of nearly 200 members and guests came to the Green Room near San Francisco City Hall on March 29 for Full Circle Fund's Inspiring Leaders Series Event. The crowd came to network, learn more about our work in the community and listen to an engaging talk titled "Inside the Startup Game" by venture capitalist and author, William H. Draper III.
For more than 40 years, Draper worked with top entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. With an insider's perspective on the worlds of venture capital and entrepreneurship, Draper shared lessons for success in both business and life, and discussed his new book, The Startup Game.
Earlier in the evening, Full Circle Fund CEO Amy Lesnick made the first public announcement that she would be stepping down from her position in June. The crowd honored Amy's six-year legacy with a standing ovation. Draper began with an acknowledgment of Amy's leadership, saying:
"Full Circle Fund is a fabulous organization. Amy, you really have done wonders for this organization and it really is thrilling for me to address you in Full Circle Fund's 10th year."
Draper continued, sharing humorous stories from the early days of venture capital, and best practices his firm employs when selecting organizations for their investment portfolio. Also in attendance were members of the Harvard Business School Association of Northern California, which was the evening's presenting partner.
