Demo Day 2012 was a resounding success, and kicked off an exciting new era of engagement for 2012. Thank you to all who joined us for our first annual event, where our new grant partners from our Education, Environment, and Global Economic Opportunity Circles were revealed. We'd also like to thank the student film team - Lala, Kyle, and Jeff - who created the opening video! Watch it here:Each organization had five minutes to "pitch" their project to the 200+ audience members, who were given 15 "Demo Dollars" to award to the most compelling ideas. This friendly competition, coupled with the night's signature cocktail - "the Demojito" made for a wild and action-packed affair.
Huge congrats to Roots of Success and Education for Change, each of whom received a surprise additional $10,000 from Pacific Gas and Electric Company, presented by Ezra Garrett! Special thanks to our hosts at Charles Schwab and Schwab Charitable, especially our member Margae Diamond, without whom this event would not have been possible.
The night's Master of Ceremonies, Full Circle Alum Marc Smolowitz, kept the audience entertained while fast-paced, interactive Snooozy polls projected the audience's knowledge and perspectives on the big screens.
