It’s Time to Jump In! 2013 Grant Cycle is Off and Running; All That’s Missing is YOU
Our Circles met this month to illuminate promising ideas and organizations, plus opportunities for investment and impact in Education, the Environment, and Global Economic Opportunity.
As a result, Members formed eight Inquiry Teams that will spend time over the next few months researching potential grant partners. Teams will share their findings (2-3 organizations) at March's meetings. Check out what the teams are investigating below; and join a team if you haven't already!
Policy & Advocacy - How can public demand for education change be sharpened?College & Careers - Which organizations and leaders are taking innovative approaches to college and career placement?Students - How might students customize their own academic experience?iZone - How might we support an innovation zone in San Mateo County and throughout Silicon Valley?
Community Engagement & Education – How can we engage the public to increase understanding and awareness about our environmental issues particularly at the municipal/city level?Global Adaptation – How can we support vulnerable populations to prepare and adapt to climate change as part of disaster risk reduction, and ensure a healthier planet for future generations? (Cross-Circle Team with Global Economic Opportunity Members)
GLOBAL ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY TEAMS
Economic Empowerment - How do we use communities and/or technology to help empower populations such as women, refugees, and immigrants?Health - Focusing on prevention programs, root causes of health inequity, healthcare education, and the intersection of health tech.
Who should join a team? Current Full Circle Fund Members and individuals working in the private sector who are strongly considering membership in Full Circle Fund. Potential grant partners should not join teams, but can email email@example.com to be placed into consideration.
Why join a team? By helping bring great ideas, organizations, and leaders to the forefront, you will directly affect our Members' 2013 grantmaking choices.
What's the commitment? Signing up generally means you'll be invited to one additional meeting a month (by phone or in person) until April and will do some research on your own time as we narrow the field of potential partners.
Members: If you aren't on a team, contact firstname.lastname@example.org to get connected. You are welcome to change and move about, so don't be afraid to just jump in and see how it goes.
Potential Members: Now is a great time to get involved! You can join an Inquiry Team while you are considering membership, but remember that you'll need to be a paying member by the time we vote on Grant Partners in May. Contact email@example.com to get connected.
