#GivingTuesday is known as an international day of philanthropy, when individuals, organizations, and companies come together to encourage philanthropy, volunteerism, advocacy, and action. This year, Full Circle Fund's Rising Leaders wanted to plan a night of impact as an iteration of our “idea jam” model, where Members drop by for a few hours and make a lasting impact on an organization in need. And so, the #GivingTuesday Jamathon was born!
Organizations all over the Bay Area applied for one of a few select spots to participate, and the Rising Leaders selected seven: Central Market NOW, EARN, Kiva Zip, Kuli Kuli, Oasis For Girls, The Reset Foundation, and Tumml.
Each organization kicked off the night by presenting their "pain-point," or need for help, ranging from rebranding, building scale, and creating stakeholder appeal. Guests then split into teams and spent two hours brainstorming innovative solutions for the organizations' various issue areas. Once that wrapped up, a representative (or few!) from each presented their solution to the room.
The Rising Leaders voted on the organization that best met their three criteria: actionable, leverage of funds, and creativity -- and announced that they'd award their $2,500 grant to The Reset Foundation!
Congratulations to all organizations involved, and especially to our amazing Rising Leaders for leading this event and to Tagged, Inc. for hosting us.
