Mission: MESA supports small-scale farmers and a new generation of agrarian leaders, linking current innovations in sustainable agriculture with ancestral knowledge to promote land stewardship, localized economies and cultural awareness.
Approach: Full Circle Fund Members planned to help MESA better define its business development efforts by creating toolkits for outreach and fundraising efforts. Members aimed to connect donors with projects through website analysis and provide guidance on strategy and branding.
MESA recently launched its Sustainable Projects Recognizing Innovative Growers (SPRIG) program to help host farmers develop mentoring skills to benefit next generation of farmers, and needed strategic marketing, outreach and development counsel to galvanize critical support from stakeholders and clients.
Members developed key marketing collateral, including comprehensive infographic to better articulate MESA’s mission and created a set of best practices to advance MESA’s development efforts.
Members also provided key strategic guidance for organizational development and cultivated new donors for MESA’s fundraising event, which led to a 200 percent increase in attendees and a 700 percent growth in revenue.
Members saved MESA approximately 450 hours of outreach, marketing, development and fundraising time and $16,000 in strategic planning and donor cultivation.
Full Circle Fund’s engagement resulted in six new major funders and two new Board Members from the Full Circle Fund network.
