Karen Alden

Karen has twenty years of business experience, primarily in the areas of marketing and strategic planning. She spent many years in the cable television industry, holding senior executive positions at the Walt Disney Company, Fox Television, the Home Shopping Network, and USA Networks. Her most recent full-time position was as CEO of Dr. McDougall's Right Foods, Inc. Karen is currently contributing her management and marketing experience in the non-profit realm. She is a member of the Steering Committee for Harvard Business School's Community Partners Program, which provides pro bono consulting to Bay Area non-profits. She also serves on the board of directors of Hope Street Group, a bipartisan organization that develops policies that enhance economic opportunity. Karen has served on local boards or provided consulting services to a variety of Bay Area organizations, including the following: - Peninsula Symphony Orchestra - E3--Education, Excellence and Equity - Redwood City Police Activities League - Destiny Arts Center - Center for Youth - Peninsula Bridge Program Karen graduated with a BA from Boston College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is currently working toward a Certificate in Early Childhood Education and has completed numerous courses in non-profit management and grant writing.
