Full Circle Fund started over 22 years ago when a group of friends decided to pool financial resources and their time to collectively support local nonprofits in the Bay Area.

Our founders were inspired by two models: engaged philanthropy and giving circles.

From the very beginning, Full Circle Fund aimed to bring people together to grow a community of change-makers in the Bay Area— and educate people to disrupt traditional philanthropy practices.

The idea was to create a full circle together with nonprofit partners and grow crucial capacity for organizations.

The founding group of friends expanded to form a member-driven organization.  Full Circle Fund became a network of over 100 cross-sector professionals; a community of skilled volunteers committed to leveraging time and financial resources to supporting the nonprofit ecology in the Bay Area.

Our members come from across all sectors and professional backgrounds, including tech, finance, marketing, business, law, as well as education, community-based work, and nonprofits. The common thread is a desire to engage professional skills for good and make an impact.

Through Full Circle Fund, people have opportunities to dive deep into the systemic roots of inequality and local issues, meet others committed to social change, attend community events to connect with nonprofit innovators and experts, and develop potential partnerships.

In 2023, we emerged with YCore because we recognize we hold common values and share a focus on helping people use professional skills for good.

Today our members foster community and personally help accelerate change through:

• Pro-bono work on structured, strategic, capacity-growing projects with nonprofit partners

• Engaging in education and action programs
