Project Fellowship

We teach and train professionals in the Bay Area to be committed partners working towards community-based change.

How it Works

  • We partner teams of 4-5 professionals with local nonprofits to work on a 4-month strategic project. Our fellows apply their professional skills to a challenge their partner is facing, dedicating after-work hours to bring solutions to life.

The goal of these projects is twofold:

    1) To provide nonprofits working with populations most affected by socioeconomic inequity with skills and resources they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.

    2) To provide our members, who see inequity around them and want to make a positive difference, with experience practicing solidarity and using their skills to support important work.

  • We believe in the power of collective action and know that working towards change is so much easier when you do it in community with others! That is why we ask our members to invest time and energy into building relationships with their team members, nonprofit partners, and the wider cohort. We’ll provide you with opportunities, and guidance but you have to put in the work!

  • We pair learning with action! All project teams participate in 5 in-person workshops. All of our workshops are interactive and give you opportunities to participate in discussions, meet other project teams, and further your learning. Workshop topics include:

    • Human Centered Design (Stakeholder Interviewing & Synthesis)

    • Identifying our Values

    • Systems Change

    • Staying involved in social change work

  • The project fellowship is a 4-month program and you can expect to spend ~3-4 hours a week. Here’s an example of what a week might look like:

    • 1.5 hrs: Full Circle Fund Workshop

    • 1 hr: Team Meeting

    • 1.5 hrs: Project Work

The work that [Full Circle Fund] has done for us is absolutely invaluable…I can’t speak highly enough about the team and the work they’ve done - it’s really blown me away.
— Stephanie Goss, Development Manager at La Cocina
Because of my experience, I have more knowledge of the issues facing my community and more confidence to be a part of the change that is needed to build
a more equitable society.
— Kaity Galanos, 2021 YCore Fellow

Projects

  • Spokeland is committed to making their services and training available and accessible to underrepresented and underserved community members.

They are excited to partner with an FCF project team to explore potential ideas or opportunities for generating more revenue, and increasing financial support from the Bay Area community so that they can continue the great work they do!

  • Collaborate with ROCK SF to redesign their website. Websites are an important way for nonprofits to share the impact of their work, and bring in new donors, volunteers, employees, and clients.

R.O.C.K. wants their website to be much easier to navigate and do a better job of sharing the story of what they do.

The FCF team will be responsible for rethinking the content/structure of the website and R.O.C.K will ask their website developer to implement the recommended changes.
